My keyboard has suddenly started typing incorrect characters - for example: " produces @ and vice versa; the pound sterling sign produces # (I`ve lost the pound sign completely) Any idea what`s happening? Thanks.

Sounds like you've got the wrong language selected... different countries have keys in slightly different places. To change it,

Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options. Click on the Languages tab and check the correct region is selected. If not, add it and remove the incorrect one!

Hope this helps - post back if you're still stuck.

Thanks, Matt, I`ve changed the language from English (USA) to English (UK), and restarted the PC, but still no change. There`s about half a dozen keys that are affected. I remember several years ago, having this same problem, but can`t remember how I solved it. But I seem to recall vaguely that it was something fairly simple, and I think to do with country or language. Any other ideas? Thanks. 711
