My advice is not to plan on doing it.

By virtue of enquiring about such things you are preparing yourself to go out on the road and endanger other people's lives and that is then dealt with under criminal procedures.

If youve already done such a stupid thing and got away with it without causing an accident then take your punishment at the court hearing and learn your lesson.

I'm sorry bob, there's an unhappy tendancy here for some people to interpret a question as an invitation to mount a high horse and pronounce judgement.

happyskyper does not know if you are referring to yourself, a friend or even somebody who may have hit you, yet still feels the need to give us the benefit of such obvious wisdom.

Never mind - in answer to your question the magistrates bench book starts with 12 months disqualification and a category B fine for a breath reading of 35-55. As I recall a category B fine equates to roughly two weeks salary

even if you are just over,its a 12 month ban and heavy fine plus court costs,second time usually 3 yr ban plus big fine and costs. and then big time insurance quote

cheers guys for the advice, it was actually my mate who was stopped last week- he had two and a half pints and failed his breath test. Now he has gotta wait for blood test results.....

by the way a drink driving conviction stays with you for 10 years, can harm your chances of future employment etc. not really worth it.

Basically if you are convicted of drink driving it is obligatory that you are disqualified from driving unless the Court finds that a �special reason� exists for not doing so.
