You have chillies growing in the garden ? - bring them in, they thrive on indoor heat. I grow mine in a conservatory which regularly reaches 35C+ on a hot day.
I recycle everything possible, so much that I never put out a black bag for the landfill.
My principal, super-principal mode of transport is the bike, which is stress-free, no traffic jams, and gives you a bit of exercise.
As to reducing CO2 emissions, it's a waste of time however. China alone is building 2 new coal-burning power stations per WEEK. The planet is doomed, but we can hardly criticise them, we started it, besides, everybody wants cheap goods.
Next time you go shopping, look at where things have been manufactured - you will be staggered to see how very much of what we buy (non-food) is Made in China. Next time you see something Made in England, post it on here. Taylor's of Sheffield knives, er, a bit hard put for any more.
