Seaside Garden

We live in the North of scotland 200 yeards from the North Sea. anything i put into my garden just gets blasted and shrivelled by the wind. The last straw has been my St John's Wort shrubs - any suggestions what will grow on my little "blasted heath"

Hi Morag, One shrub that should succede those conditions is Seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) The berries are a good source of food for birds too. Good Luck. Tbird+

Thanks for your help. I already have buckthorn in the garden - about the only thing that grows!! The website was really helpful. Who knows, i might get a garden yet!!
