Blocked Nose & Soar Throat
6 Answers
Ok this is really annoying now, i've sneezed over 40 times today and i'm not even exaggerating... I think its just a cold but I couldn't even eat my dinner properly. It started from the back of my nose feeling weird (hard to explain it but u might know what I mean) and its affecting my throat now, it actually hurts when I swallow. Just all of it started from this morning I was fine every night before.
Anyone got any ideas that could maybe ease the pain or something to help.

Another reason you are like this is an allergy. Do you usually suffer from hayfever or anything like that? It sounds just like the symptoms I get when I am having an allergic reaction to some fruit or veg.
Piriton syrup clears up allergic reactins very fast as do the tablets. Another one in tablet form is Zirtec, and you can now buy all of these in any supermarket. Most also do their own brands now, which will naturally be a lot cheaper, but their reliability is certainly just as effective.
If you are still feeling like the proverbial bag of sh1te tomorrow I would get to the Doctor's - even if you think it is just a bit of a bug you need to make sure.
Hope you are feeling better very soon. xxx
At the first sign of colds or a virus I always swear by drinking plenty of fluids, eating lots of fruit and veg and invest in a bottle of Echinacea tablets from my local health shop. I used to get up to 10 colds/viruses a year but since taking Echinacea and upping my fluid intake I only get one or two really mild cases.
When I get a cold I have a blocked and runny nose and sore throat but don't sneeze, and usually lose my appetite as well. My allergic rhinitis is what causes those crazy sneezing fits, as well as a constant itch in the nose and throat. So it could be the onset of allergies to something like dust mites, pet hair or pollen. The antihistamines people have recommended are good for that, although Piriton will send you to sleep. Benadryl is a good non-drowsy one. If it is a cold I would just recommend rest and paracetomol products, and a drink of lemon juice, honey, ginger and a bit of whisky won't do you any harm either.
