Unusual names please!
48 Answers
Can you tell me the silliest, the most unusual name or the most old-fashioned you can think of for a boy or a girl? (In fact, it's for a huge toy polar bear in a "guess it and win it" competition raising money for charity and school!) I know I could trawl baby name websites, but this would be more fun. And as it's for a good cause, I thought it'd be good for your Bodies and Souls too....(ed, please take note!)

The latin for the polar bear is Ursus maritimus (see bear).
So you could have Ursula, that means 'bear', or maybe Ursa Major (great she bear) would be more apt. The male version would probably be the Old French: Orson meaning bear like!
Or you could use the Greek word Arktos.
Either that or call it Rupert
