Where have my text messages gone?!

Hope this is the right section. I just got my PEBL phone upgraded to a LG, and when i put my sim into the LG all my messages were gone. I expected that though. When I put my sim back into my PEBL they were still there so I assume that means they are stored on my phone? Anyway, I put a sim from my old Sony Erricson into my PEBL so I could still read my old messages and theyve all just gone. Even when I put my PEBL sim back in theyre gone. Deleted. How has this happened? can I get them back? hope that made sence, thanks.

They were probably stored in the phone's memory in which case you should have transferred them to the simcard before changing phones.
