Charity Challenge

I just said I'd do a sponsored Abseil off the building where I work! Another woman at work will be doing it with me and I roped a friend into it too! I am bricking it! It's not for a month yet and we still need to find out if there are places available.. but OH MY GOD!
It's to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Trust. I am worried though that I will get loads of sponsors and get to the top and decide I can't do it and let everyone down!
Have you ever done anything really challenging for charity?

When you go over the edge, just make sure you straighten your knees as much as you can to push out against the building.
If you do get a spot, stick yourself on the 'justgiving ' website then you can e-mail all your friends to persuade them to stump up some pennies without you having to collect the cash.

I abseiled years ago and it took me ages before i could actually step off but once i did it was the most fantastic fun had ever had! In fact, i went back up and did it again!
You'll love it, i guarentee you! and good for you, the Macmillan nurses are truly wonderful, fantastic cause.
If you're scared when you're up there, just think about how scared the people who will benefit from what you are doing feel, faced with the future they have. :-) It will pale into insignificance.
Good luck!

I got the email this morning telling me there are places left and the lady is sending me a registration form!!!! Oh god.. that's it now!
99 other people are doing it on the day. I just hope I'm not first. Lol.
I am sure I will be fine... I hope I will be fine.. I am just worried that I will bottle it when I am up there and change my mind and let people down! But everyone is telling me I will be fine.. We shall see!

My Mum and I did a charity abseil last year and she is terrified of heights. She was really scared at the top but did it because she didnt want to let down the people who had sponsored her. The instructors were fantastic and supportive (we also did it for Macmillan) and now my mum wants to do another!!
