Not a lot really! Tides and, therefore a massive ecosystem based around them. Menstrual cycles and all that that brings with it! Countless legends, stories, myths. Something for us to gaze at whilst we're sitting with our loved ones on a hill at night! And something for the Americans to stick a flag on (or did they?!?)
