I am a childminder and have been owed nearly 150 since February 2006.(it was about 240 but the man has paid off some, but not regularly) Im almost certain the man was getting child care payments as he was on working tax credit, but he didnt give it to me. I have asked him several times to pay me but he says he's out of work and cant afford it, i dont see him very often but I've asked his girlfriend to get him to come and see me about it, but shes getting fed up with me asking for it, he's not denying that he owes me the money, but I know he goes to the pub and he smokes. I'm a single parent with 3 children and I need that money, I shouldnt have to keep asking for it, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?

Hi Sarah, I think your only possible solution is to take him to small claims court. First though, send him a letter asking for the money and send it recorded delivery. Make sure you have documented everything including his responses! Good luck.
