How often do you dye?

Does anyone here dye their hair and if so, how often?
I have naturally dark brown hair and it's a nice colour but I like to add a brunette dye to it just to give it that nice glossy healthy look. I have always done it so don't really let my natural colour come through. I find my hair grows so quickly though and I feel the need to dye it every four weeks but on the box it says to leave it for 6 weeks. (Its a permenant dye)

How often do you dye yours? If you don't do it often, is that because you can't be bothered to do it regulary or do you dye it whenever your roots come through?

I get two or three shades put in using foils about every 8 weeks, because it is done that way the roots aren't a problem, try that, it does make a difference and you don't get the line effect. Don't know if there is a home treatment kit but there might be.

Thing is, my hair has nice natural tones that give my hair a very slight highlighted affect and I'd rather spend �5 on a home dye (Herbal Essence if you're wondering.. Lol) then pay �50 every 8 weeks... I can't afford that... well.. I could but that means sacrificing new clothes!

I have never dyed my hair. Its a natural bron colour and looks naturaly glossy. I thought about dying it once but when i went to buy the kit i forgot what i was doing and ended up in card party buying a birthday card...
Don't know who it was for because i only remember some of the trip

I have natural jet black hair, about 10 years ago in my early 20s I started to get a grey patch in my parting at the front but nowhere else, since then i have had low lights highlights the works and agreed it is expensive !

I now have to do this small patch at my roots every 3-4 weeks and use that Loreal touch up permanent black its about �4 but you just get enough to do your roots,comes with little tray and brush applicator.

Stops me looking like Mortica Adams anyway :)

I dye my brown hair a deeper shade of brown - my hairdresser does it for me (I'm far too worried I would do it wrong!) every 8 weeks.

I dont like product build up at all. I switched to salon shampoos and I only use a noncoloured semi permanent salon gloss just before I go on holiday to gove it a good consition and protect from the sun.

So erm, Im not a hair dying fan, I dont know what I am going to do when I start going grey.

I hope I only dye once.........But on the other hand, if one does it more than once one might get used to it and rather enjoy the constant coming and going.

I dye my hair with semi permanent hair dye, boot's own brand as I can't be bothered to keep doing just the roots when it starts to grow out. This way it just fades in colour but I use the shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair to keep it going that bit longer. I also change the colour from time to time to different browns so semi is more convenient.
I have 2 grey hairs that I know of but are a bit hidden but always seem to be very prominent when I am having my hair cut!.
Box says it lasts about 6-8 weeks (think it is) so I usually decide I haven't done it for a while so dye it then :o)
