Ive just had a new bathroom suite fitted and have paid for the walls to be retiled . The tiler informs me that he is going to tile over the old tiles. Is this ok? Please advise.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yes it can be done and it does give a good finish, I would guess that the old tiles are direct onto plasterboard, hence his reluctance to take them off, this could indeed cause a lot more work, ie:the plasterboard is more than likely going to have big holes in it once the tiles are removed if the previous tiler used a lot of adhesive, most tilers do remove tiles but in this case if you do want them removed be prepared for more work to be done to walls before tiling can be done, Ray
