Tony Blair to become officially a Roman Catholic ?
Loads of touchpapers to light here of course. For my part, I make no secret of my admiration for TB, and I have been pleased that my Prime Minister is a Christian. I expect it annoys the Islamic world no end, but hey-ho. What do you think ?
The bad news for the tree huggers is that Gordon Brown is also a Christian.

The less I see of his/hers & Prescott's faces, the happier I'll be! Altho', the next lot will prob' look just as irritating!
Mind you, I quite like the look of Gordon Brown's wife - she appears quite nice - so far!

whiffey, which morals do you mean?
Do you not think it's possible to hold Christian morals and not believe in God?
Personally, I found it terrfying when Blair suggested that he makes decisions that were guided by God. I'd prefer him to apply logic.
You could also argue that being religious makes someone less of a good or moral person, not more of one. Isn't it better to behave in a decent way because you care about how your behaviour affects others, rather than because you're afraid of upsetting your maker or forfeiting your place in heaven?

It really would be interesting to hear whiffey explain what "Christian values" are. Moral values, that is, which did not exist until 2000 years ago. List them, whiffey.
I prefer the view of the late Sir Peter Medawar, one of the greatest and most lucid thinkers of our age who said:
"The price in blood and tears that mankind generally has had to pay for the comfort and spiritual refreshment that religion has brought to a few has been too great to justify entrusting moral accountancy to religious belief"
