Have I to much security
7 Answers
I use the AVG Professional Anti-virus programme plus I occasionally run Registry Mechanic through my files but most recently I included the Ad-Aware Plus programme to my armoury....Since then my PC seems to have gone to sleep......Can one have too much security? Is one programme causing conflict with another?...If so, which should I dispence with?...Your advice will be much appreciated....Thanks....Telboy

ad-aware ... runs on demand
reg mechanic doesn't do anything at all in security terms.
you could use another ad/spy scanner
spybot search and destroy is generally well thought of
again run on demand ... (but at least once a week ... and you should be ok
possibly the slowdown is because you don't have enough ... and not too much.
alsu use the space wizart to clean out those temp folders ... and de-frag your disc

Thanks ACtheTroll....I deleted AdAware and pleases to say my PC speed came back to norm...As I said, I hace the proffessional AVG and they have just notified me of an added Anti Spyware package for a "one-off" fee of 5:95. I run Defrag and Disc Clean-up regularly so hopefully I will be secure without the loss of speed (The very reason I ditched the more expensive Norton / Symantec. Thanks for your help....Telboy

All it takes is a linux bootable distro ... and all those letters just vanish! and your files are wide open to everyone
