I recently was classed as disabled and am planning a holiday abroad. The hotels are not amajor problem as i can get about with crutches but i have to find a destination in Europe that is very flat and accessible for a wheelchair, preferably in Greece, Portugal, Canaries but not essential. All suggestions on websites or experience are welcome.

Lake Garda immediately springs to mind. I was there last September, staying in Garda which was very flat, and many of the small towns around the Lake are also flat & there is wheelchair access to the ferries. Also we went on a day trip to Verona (can be done by coach or train) which was flat - and Venice too is flat (once you get off the boats) and a day trip away from Garda. Here is a link about the disabled access around Garda.

More suggestions:
Lagos & Faro (and many other places) in the Algarve are flat. Aso - (from memory) Costa Teguise in Lanzarote. Barcelona is flat and is connected to many coastal places by short train ride so you could check out the resorts around there. Many of the Italian resorts are flat - such as Rimini. Puerto de La Cruz in Tenerife - although surrounded by hills & a mountain, the main part of the town & promenade are flat.
just to say enjoy your hoiday.. i am disabled 51 yo guy i had a stroke 4 yrs ago but can walk short distances. Iam going to Paris this year as i am on my own...ALL THE BEST DAVE
Costa Teguise is a great resort if you have mobility problems as it is level and the paths are smooth.
Roda in Corfu is ok as well. I spent 2 weeks there a few years ago and I was in a wheelchair.
Hope you have a good holiday wherever you go.
