3 guys sharing a flat decide to buy a second hand TV. They each put in 10 and get one for 30. The TV salesman tells his boss who informs him that the TV was actually priced at 25 and to give them a 5 refund. The salesman finds the 3 guys and offers them 5 1 coins back. They're impressed and take only a 1 coin each and tell the salesman to keep the other two as a tip. That means the 3 guys ended up paying only 9 each and three times nine plus two equals 29.....so what happened to the last pound coin?
Not sure where the 9.33 comes from. They did each spend 9 (10 minus 1) totalling 27, made up of the 25 the boss kept and the 2 they returned - adding the 2 to the 27 is an irrelevancy as it is already in the 27 !
