To cut a long story short my company are trying to get me out, I have been off work with work related stress for 21 weeks and suffer from an anxiety disability but have now been signed back to work by my doctor
The company say's it is only reasonable after such along time off that there occupational health doctor accesses me for my fitness to return to work
What is to stop the company saying that they feel my environment would not be suitable and get rid of me, as both myself and doctor believe things should be ok, would you advise I see the company doctor, do I have to?
The company are entitled to ask for you to see their company doctor, in the circumstances, your gp has said you are fit to work, if you refuse to go ahead with it, then the company could say you are in breach of contract, if in the worst case senerio they did let you go, then you may have a claim for unfair dismissial, would be worth contacting acas as there independant and may throw light on to the subject.
Good luck, dont let the ******* grind you down. x
i think you have it completely the wrong way round ... they want you to see their doctor because they want to make sure they dont put you in any position when you get back that makes your ill ness worse. They are doing it to protect themselves but also to protect you. If your company doctor dosnt feel the environment is right for you then they will find you somewhere that it - it IS only reasonable, after all your 21 weeks absencse could be due to a stressfull situation at work, and they dont just want to put you back in the firing line. I haver recently been off for 6 week s and had to see occupational health when i got back
