Over the past couple of weeks my kitchen sink is giving off a very bad egg smell whenever the washing machine empties.
We have put bleach down over night and the smell seems to go for a wile but now everytime the washing machine is emptying the eggy smell is present

I had the same problem as this, and it took ages to work out what was wrong.
Does the smell get worse if you use the machine after a couple of day of non use
The plumbing on my washing machine connects to the pipe under the sink, but the water was not draining properly and was going back into the machine and then stagnating. I had a plumber fit a non return valve and it works fine.

I had a similar problem and when I mentioned it to a washing machine engineer he said that it was often caused by bacteria building up when machines are often used on cool washes. He recommended occasionally using the machine on a hot wash which I now do and this mostly seemed to have resolved my problem. Plus an occasional good helping of bleach down the sink, although I don't like to pollute the water by doing this too often.
