I have 2 DD set up to come out of my bank account for 2 credit cards. One of which i cleared last month, but they still took 18 payment this month so i am now in credit. I didn't think they would take a paymrnt if the debt clear. I have now cancelled the Direct debit with my bank but do i need to tell the other bank which credit card is held with i have cancelled it?

The same thing happened to my son recently - he wasn't aware He thought that if he had a nil balance then thry wouldn't take any money but unfortunately they do. Tell all concerned what you have done and then no-one can be in any doubt.
CC card companies vary in their habits here.

Some will take the debit come what may
Others will take the payment you have made off the DD
Others will not take the DD at all if your payment is more than the minimum

Moral is not to assume what will happen and check with your company first.
Normally you pre-select how much yopu want them to take. Either a) full balance b) minimum payment or c) fixed amount. I am fairly sure you will find that you set up a fixed amount.
