Problem with wireless connection

We have 2 PC's. The modem is connected to the upstairs PC and then a wireless router connects the downstairs PC to the internet. This has been working great since January.

The wireless connection is connected, but I cannot get internet access or email, or anything which connects this way. I keep "repairing" the connection, and it says the connection is good.

The error is that the DNS is not connected
Please can anyone help?
Thanks in anticipation

I believe in the simple obvious things first, before fiddling with tricky bits. :)

Have you tried turning it all off at the mains - computers, routers, modems - everything. Wait at least a minute and now switch back on in this EXACT order (it won't work otherwise!)

1, Modem. Wait at least 30 seconds for the flashing lights to settle.

2. Router (if separate) - wait again.

3. PCs.

Hopefully this will resolve the problem. If not, we can try something else.
You mean that you have a PC upstairs connected with a modem to the phone line, and then separately another PC downstairs connected to the phone line with wireless router?

If you, your setup is wrong, and this may be where the problems arise.
This is exactly what i have and apparently it is the bad weather

Ethel - Unfortunately it did not work, so its back to the drawing board for me. thanks again tho

Fo3nix - I have a PC connected to broadband via cable modem upstairs, which also has a wireless router connected and a receiver on the PC downstairs.

OK then I just misunderstood from your initial description.

So, all computers see the wireless, but none get internet?

Go into the router's settings page, and make sure it says that it's connected (the 192.168.2.1 thing).
