Designing a webpage for a football club
Hi
not sure if this is in the correct topic section.
I am trying to design a webpage for a football club.
Does anyone know where I can find ideas for the front page?
Have done a few designs but my husband has looked at them and says they do not look professional enough.
On the cover have put a picture of a football then the name of the football club and the logo.
The colours are red and black.
Not sure how many navigation buttons to have?
Need a website to go on to give me ideas.
Thanks

Why not go and look at some other teams web pages to get some ideas.
To find the sites, go to the BBC sports pages, and for each team there is a link to the Official Club Site, like this:

If you are new to web design then it can take a time to get the "design" part right.
Anybody can throw together some HTML and make a web page, but it takes some design skills and artistic skills to make it look "right".
Dont worry if you have to tear your first design up and start again, it may take you three or four goes to get it right.
This book may help, it talks more about the DESIGN of a web site (the look and feel) than the technical side of HTML.

Here are two examples of good and bad web design.
Jazz West Midlands is a terrible site. Gaudy colours, bad design, all sorts of fonts with different colours, flashing icons, no overall look and feel.
http://www.jazzwestmidlands.co.uk/
Compare it with this. Soft colours, easy on the eye, constant look and feel, easy to navigate.

Which would you rather use.
Good web design is not easy and it can take as long to get good at designing a web site as it can to learn to draw or paint.
