The Police did well to get the two bomb cars in london before they could do any damage. But hey, especially you Londoners, we are at war with a virtually invisible enemy, so please keep your eyes and ears open for anything untoward, and report anything suspicious to the police. Your life may depend on it. Yes, you'll have heard it all before, but I'm just doing my bit to remind you once again. Vigilance!

Just been on Breakfast News - police cars all parked around a car parked on double yellow lines.

Of course, it was just a badly parked 'suspicious' vehicle that wasted police time, but make sure you are vigilant

As IRA/Sinn Fein said during their bombing campaign, the authorities have to be lucky every time whilst they need be lucky only the once. It's better to have a hundred false alarms than miss one genuine bomb.

Having said that, the terrorists need not plant another as the disruption caused by suspect vehicles is creating problems already.

How dare the government ask us to be vigilant. We are all now taking the brunt of their foreign policy and their lack of border control.

We let these terrorists into this country, give them our taxc payers money, our council houses etc and then they try to kill us.

We need to close the borders and become an island again. I am all for controlled immigration where it is needed but out open door policy is now coming back to bite us on the @rse.

We need to rise up and voice our concerns and insist on our policy on immigration be looked at and amended to serve us, The British Public not these terrorists.

You are quite correct Theland when you say ' We are at war ' and It's about time the goverment realised this also and took some strong action.

They can implement laws that makes it illegal to smoke a lawful substance in a person's favourite club or pub, and spend thousands of pounds on advertisments that are forever telling us of the fact that this law comes into effect on 1st July 2007, so why then can they not bring in measures to combat terrorism in this country?

Emergency measures to bring in, would be to close down all Mosques. This will prevent the preaching of hatred towards the west, that has been proven to take place in these buildings. Measures could be enforced to stop the gathering of groups of people around the outside of these buildings also. It would be also useful to make all peoples of the Muslim faith to register with the authorities.

Yes I know this will be very upsetting to the majority of peace loving Muslims, but the time has come to take these strong measures. The Muslim community have had chance time and time again to speak out and turn over these terroists, but they have failed to do so. Offend them and they are out on the streets, burning flags and effigies and calling for the deaths of anyone who dares to offend or oppose them, all in all very violent people.

Closing mosques is never going to happen, and it wouldn't make a ha'porth of difference anyway. Islam hates everything that isn't Islam, it subjugates and oppresses its women, it brings a savage 'law', and is a completely evil menace to this country and the world, unless of course you want to live in mud huts and behead people in public. Just put sheets down to catch the worst of the arterial gushes of blood.

Incidents like these just pushes me and others more to the political right. With Labour moving away from its left of centre and the tories moving to towards the softer left there is a need for a strong right wing party without the stigma of the BNP.

A party that stands for Great Britain, that encourages controlled imigration for the good of the country whilst stopping the flood of bogus asylum seekers.

Maybe then this will stop.

Salas, you and I can complain as long as we like, but it won't make any difference. The police statement was at pains, yet again, to bang on about 'the majority of peaceful muslims' . But the muslim culture itself is anathema to a western way of life, until of course they have outnumbered the west, and public beheadings at the Tower return, women are subjugated under a full-face veil, and anything vaguely white or western is abolished.
