Side effects of antibiotics

I was recently prescribed a dose of antibiotics to treat a throat infection, but the last period ( after i had finished taking the tablets) I had was extremley heavy and I don't normally suffer from them. Could the antibiotics I took cause this? I know they contained Penicillin.Thanks.

i don't think the antibiotics would have that effect on your period. it could be because you were poorly, or it could be just sheer coincidence.

I also doubt that this had anything to do with the antibiotics shopaholicst . If you keep having heavy periods it may be wise to pop to your GP and see if there is a reason for them. All the best . :-) x
