Advice please - the quickest & most effective way to lose flab from stomach?
12 Answers
I've been back at gym for last couple of months doing 2 times a week and whenever I go I do atleast 140 sit ups, well that roll bar thingy. Anyway, the flab on my stomach is worst it's ever been, does anybody know what exersises I can do to reduce the flab within one month as going on hol next month. I used to have a very flat tummy, but I did nothing for a year and piled on the weight and now I'm 26 it's harder to get rid of than ever before. Any advice would be much appreciated. TIA

Sit up's wont lose you much 'flab', just tone the muscles underneath. You'll need to do actuall excercise for that.
Time machine will work too, of course.
Also, if you will insist on doing and unreasonable amount of situps, then make sure your doing them right. You may find when you get the technique right they'll suddenly become a whole lot harder. =)

the reason that the flab now looks worse than ever is that the sit ups are building the abdominal muscles, as these get bigger the fat stored over the top will be pushed out further.
The is no way to target specific parts of the body to remove fat - instead it is lost from the last place it was deposited (e.g. recently gained on legs it will be lost from the legs first when exercising)...
additionally while weight training (this includes sit ups) has its place in a weight loss regime the focus should really be on aerobic exercise (running, cycling, rowing etc) - as you only have a very short time till hol i would concentrate on this.
