Gordon Brown still doesn't "do" Democracy.
What use is Gordon's plan to restore democracy to Parliament by reforming the Constitution if he won't give us a Referendum on the EU Treaty?

WendyS,
You should see which party offers a referendum at the next general election and vote for that party. (If that party lose, you can assume that most people aren't bothered).

Tony Blair, ergo the Labour Party, promised a referendum on the constitution, Gordon Brown should be held to it.
I've signed Wendy.

The EU constitution was withdrawn, so Blair's promise hardly holds. The replacement is altogether feebler. Brown is calling for talks on a British constitution, which I would have thought devout Brits would welcome, though perhaps some would prefer just to become the 51st state and adopt the US Constitution (a fine document, mostly).
The problem is the EU has had such a bad name with the Tories rubbishing it over the years people have been brainwashed into believing we should be no part of it.
What if we abandoned the EU and acted independently would we then try to suck up to the US. They no longer want us unless backing them up in illegal wars.
The problem with the EU is that its now too big with 27 countries. The likes of Poland go there own way by siting US missiles on their land and bring up WWII when it suits them.
What is needed is a 2 stage Europe where just 6 major players making all the important decisions similar to the UN 5 else we are going to find a suitable decision on EU matters unachievable in future.
