Which is the best carpet washer/shampooer

Just buying an old pub qhich was poorly converted ten yrs ago.The carpets though excellent quality but they ae filthy.
I need to buy a carpet washer/shapooer which is ABers experience is the best.

Many years ago owned a Vax and Hoover carpet cleaner. Hard work and would never own a carpet cleaner again. Have hired since and these were quicker and easier. If you are buying a pub tho u would probably need to use one more often than at home but you could find which is best by hiring before buying. Also as u have such a large area u may benefit by getting pro advice 1st - carpets can shrink and then you would have to buy new ones.

We had an old red Vax which was very hard work. We recently bought a Vax Rapide., an upright carpet shampooer with rotating brushbars.

It is very easy to use with excellent results and the carpet is almost dry when you finish.

Both our sons have used it in their homes and both are thoroughly satisfied with the results.

I have to agree with dilligaf. I bought a Vax Rapide 18 months ago and I use it a lot. Very easy to use with good results and yes your carpet is nearly dry when finished. I have never used such an easy shampooer and I have tried several others. I would recommond this one. Good Luck

We bought a Vax upright which is good but it does need constant emptying when trying to clean the carpets. Wish I had gone for the larger Vax heavy duty one which is one big cylinder.

Rug Doctors are fantastic. You can hire from most places eg. Johnsons Dry Cleaners and some Tescos, Homebase etc. You can also buy the units as well - although can be costly. There are some on ebay, so check them out, it you want industrial quality.
