Can cat fleas live off humans? (i.e. no cat present)
4 Answers
Hi,
My cat recently died and since then I have been overrun with fleas in the house. I'm guessing they prefer me now that he is no longer around to attract them - I never saw one flea in the house while the cat was alive, thouch I guess they were there, lurking.
I've sprayed all the rooms with aerosol products but they still seem to be hanging around - though in reduced numbers.
Presumably cat fleas ultimately need a cat to survive, so how long will it be before they disappear completely from my house?
Thanks
Paul

Whats probably happening is youve had flea eggs laid in your carpet from when your cat was alive and theyre now hatching. Even on wooden floors it can happen, the best thing to use is a flea room spray but from the vets, the pet shop stuff usually contains old drugs which are less effective.
Hi there,
Unfortunetly the heat is what will bring fleas out and they will be multiplying, like raggies said they are all in your capets, furniture, bedding and clothes, pet shops do really good sprays to kill them also a lot of hovering, only way your getting rid of them is killing them or they will be non paying rent lodgers.
