I love Dr Who and so was dreading the christmas special, and having to look at CT for an hour. However... I thought it was a brilliant episode and CT really won me over to the point I was almost hoping she would say yes when he asked, so, I suppose I'm happy to see how it pans out, it's certainly not he worst thing in the world. The end!
"We are delighted that one of Britain's greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth series," he said.
Although she wasn't quite as annoying as I had expected, I'd hardly go that far.
Bit disappointed by the lack of Martha, who I felt was way more interesting/likeable/better-acted/hot than Rose. A lot of people don't seem to have liked the character for some reason.

I didn't mind her, she did seem to have more oppertunity for character development than Rose did (though I do love Rose), Perhaps that was the problem, the character was too faultless so people didn't feel they could relate to her, probably too slim, too intelligent, too independent etc. people got jealous!
I don't think there always has to be sexual tension between the doctor and his companion, there hasn't always been, not to the extent of Rose and Martha anyway.

Well, I am really pleased that Catherine has got the part! Her comic timing will be entertaining and the fact that there will be no hint of romance between her and The Doctor is a good thing in my opinion. Martha was a terrible character and to make her fall in love with the doc after his wonderful partnership with Rose was just silly - hence why (to my mind) she didn't work out. I never saw one iota of chemistry between the two of them! She is coming back halfway through series 4 to join the doc and Donna though (worst luck). I think CT will be great!!!!
