my husband is having a camera put up his bum

well, not at the minute... he's on the waiting list. i feel so sorry for him, the doctors have messed him about for two years. they say it may be some kind of blockage somewhere. if they don't find anything he says it may be colitis. i just hope everything gets sorted as he's in pain all the time and the doctors wont give him anything...:(  Any advice?

I had the same done to me a few years back. They gave me a barium enema 1st then inserted a thin fibre optic camera up. It didn't hurt one bit. Your hubby will just have to lie on his side while this is being done and he should be able to see the moniter. He may have colicky pains afterwards so tell him to drink peppermint cordial or take Bisodol.

Tell him not to worry. I get it every year as I have colitis. The worst bit is the diet & laxative before hand. But keep a sense of humour and watch the screen it is fancinating. It is not everyone who can say they have seen up their own ar$ehole.
