wiping and re-installing

i want to wipe my computer and install windows 98, I have a dodgy win 98 second edition and it won't let me install win 98

I couldn't install win 98se from my disc. In the end I reformated the harddrive and instead of running it from pc, copied over all the CAB files. This worked a treat

If you do reformat the hard drive, make sure you type 'format c: /s' in dos or you'll really ****** things up!

Windows 98se is far better than Win98, and as already mentioned, you cannot go backwards. Windows ME is ok until things start to go wrong, then it's a pain. Windows XP can take some getting used to, but it's not too bad. A lot of ppl say that windows 98se is better than ME and XP.
