my neighbours started being nasty towards us and stopped speaking to us because we put up a garden fence, they removed the fence on their side and now the kid and his father keep kicking a football against our fence. The fence has now started to crack and split in the area they keep kicking the ball. I do have evidence of them doing this. Is it best to report them to the police or go through the small claims court as i want them to replace the fence.

think you should maybe talk to them first, going to court is very stressfull, and can take a long time to get sorted out and money

They will not talk to us, the woman of the house just starts being abusive and her partner runs in the house.

Go to small claims court. Even if the polce get a conviction on this, there is no guarantee you will get compensation for the damage. If the repair/money side is the main concern, go via the courts.

I have very similar neighbours,
they do not care about anyone but themselves, their kids chuck rubbish over the fence, water bombs during summer sit on our shed roof(which backs on to the fence), especially when we are having a bbq,, etc etc

in the end i found that the only way they understand (talking completely useless) is to actually do the same back,

ie: chucking more rubbish back over the fence,
covering the shed roof with grease,
and the best one ordering loads of stuff via mail order to their address
