Straighteners
14 Answers
Can anyone recommend a really good pair of Straighteners that are cheaper than GHDs? My old GHds bllew up ( literally) this morning and I can't afford a new pair. Seems as though it will be BHD from now on - I can't believe how reliant I've become on them!

its hard because the new ghds have come out the old ones r hard to find (plus the new 1s r super expensive!)
the cheapest ghds ive found are here http://www.compareghds.co.uk/wide/wideprices.h tml
and thats for the wide plated ones
i got mine a good few months ago (originals) from website called beauty sleuth for 60 somehing but even their prices are upped now.
to be honest id rather spend money on ghds than a pair that aren't as good for you because you've become so used to ghds!

Hi weeblackcat
GHD's have a fault with them as I was told by my Hairdresser. They do tend to blow up at the end of the cord and they have always had this problem.
I use Wella pro straight. You can purchase them at any Hairdresser, or most hairdressers. They cost about 40. I have very wavy hair and I do not use anything else except them.

i think it varies for everyone and depends what you look for, speed, shine, temperature blah blah...i had some 'hai stik' straighteners for 5 years before ghd's really came onto the market and i swore by them. like you, when they eventually broke i tried to find ghd ones but cheaper. i was always anti ghd until i borrowed my sisters ghd's for a week, and then tried two other brands thats claimed to be as good as them but at less than half the price - i sent both pairs back and i'm currently utterly in love with my ghds :) i got soooo many compliments the first time i used them yet i wear my hair straight everyday!!
anywho, let us know how you get on!!
