Psoriasis in ears

Do any of you suffer from this? If so, what medication do you use? I've been prescribed Dovonex cream, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

However, despite having been prescribed Dovonex, UV light treatment and every steroid cream known to man, mine only improved - indeed, disappeared for years - when I started using Alphosyll. You can buy it over the counter at pharmacies. Give it a go at least. (I have to say that my version of the disease just affected certain of my fingertips.) Good luck!

Is Dovonex a steriod? Just asking as I occasionally suffer with dermatitis in my right ear canal (bizarre place to get dermatitis especially as I don't get it anywhere else.) I'm prescribed a steriod ear drop called Locorten Vioform. It's fantastic stuff and clears up a bout within one or two days. Like psoriasis, the dermatitis can't be cured as such but I've learned what triggers it off (e.g. swimming in the sea and poking a cotton wool bud in my ear) so I'm usually able to avoid it flaring up.
Dovonex is not, I understand, a steroid, but basically a form of Vitamin D. (Do a Google search to find actual details.) However, Dermovate and similar products - also frequently prescribed for psoriasis - are. These are the ointments I was referring to in my earlier response. Alphosyll knocked the lot of them into a male-birded hat for effectiveness! (I say 'male-birded', as the system does not allow one to use the word that means 'male bird'!)
For years I have tested so many techniques to help my Psoriasis, and some things have helped more than others. Some things I have done have worked very well. Many other people have different stories on what helped them the most. For more informations, visit
