Mp3 disc won't play

Someone has put some albums in mp3 format on a DVD for me. It plays ok on a pc with Windows NT but not on my laptop with XP. I get a message "Disk not formatted. Windows cannot read fron this disk. The disk may be corrupted or is using a format that is not compatable with windows"

Stupid I know but.. are you sure the laptop has a dvd drive? :/ Also, i have had many dvds from other people that will not work on my pc. They all seem to be a bit hit and miss at the moment..

Yes, DVDs work on laptop, Mp3 DVD works on my PC at work.
