Advice needed please (dog question)

I am an experienced German Shepherd owner, having kept them for more years than I care to remember, but my youngest (14 months) is causing us a bit of a headache, She is good with other dogs, plays really nicely, except for when they run to go back to their owners, the little 'mare' will bite them on the bum! she never breaks the skin, but I am fully aware that this is a potentially dangerous problem and it has to be sorted out now, if I keep her on an extending lead she doesn't do it so I can't correct it that way, it is only when she runs loose, I don't want to have to lead walk her all her life, So is there anyone out there who has experienced similar problems that they have managed to correct?

I would try letting her play loose for a short time, then calling her back and giving her a titbit, putting her on the lead and walking away, i.e.let it be you who stops the playing before it gets to the stage where the dogs have to go back to their owners. Ask other dog owners if they will help you by leaving their dogs loose until you have called her back.

Also teach her to drop on command and tell her to stay down until you have put her on the lead. This is a basic lesson she should be taught anyway.

Drop on command she already does, she is in no way aggressive, but naturally with a large breed this is seen as aggression and to be a lot worse than it is, and understandably so, the embarrassing thing is that my husband is an ex-army dog trainer and I was a kennel maid in the army, so we should be able to sort this out, but I suppose there is always one dog in your life that tests you to the limits, I have 2 other GSD's and also a Border Collie who are all absolutely no problem at all, this one right from being a puppy has been a trial to say the least, quite dominant, I haven't been able to get her spayed yet because her seasons are all over the place, her first was at 10months and she had another one just 3 months later! she is booked in for next month so hopefully when that is done her dominant behaviour will be quelled a little.
