Can anyone give me any info on about:blank? I have installed a home page gaurd that worked for a while but about:blank still comes up from time to time. When we go to our hotmail account it comes up with a list of messages but when we click on a message to read it our old friend about:blank comes up again. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this invasion of my privacy before my PC ends up in a million pieces? Thank you.

Search for Lavasoft and download their free Ad-AwareSE software. It worked for us.

about:blank isn't a virus or anything - it's simply a blank internet explorer window. it's certainly not invading you privacy... if opening hotmail messages doesn't work i'd suggest it's a problem with you javascript (security) settings

I get "about;blank" every now and again on my computer.I run "Spybot Search and Destroy" and that gets rid of it every time. Download it free from here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html Hope that helps.
