Water and electricity

If you dropped a toaster or some other house hold electrical object into water, how much water does it take before it becomes non fatal. funny question but me and the boys just thought it up and now i need to know. cheers

Without being an electrician I would say the object would remain live until the current no longer passes through it.

As soon as it falls into the water which is sufficient to conduct the live electricity to earth the fuse will blow and cut off the current, to take your point you do not dilute the current with a volume of water you just need enough to provide a conductive path to earth.

The amount of water is not as important as how close you are to the 'toaster' and your orientation.
