I have had hayfever since I was 15 and I am now 32 and still quite a severe sufferer. Years of blowing my nose has really taken it's toll on my sinuse system and I always seem to be suffering with nasal problems. Runny nose, itchy nose, sore lining of the nose (even during the winter months). I feel like I need some sort of help or operation but not sure what is available or possible. Some people have mentioned having my nose 'corrected' but it's supposed to be extremely painful, does anyone have any help/advice they could give me please. I also find breathing through my nose very difficult, have always snored terribly and hence most nights I have very irratic sleep. Hope someone can help. Thank you.
Your nasal problems could be due to allergy causing the lining of your nose to swell and cause a blockage, it could also be due to a deviation in the cartilage of the nose causing a blockage and it could be due to a combination of both. Nasal polyps (non-mailgnant swellings) could also be involved in your problems. Get refered to an ENT surgeon for accurate diagnosis as there are poerations that could help
Yes there are ops that can help, I had mine on 28th June this year as I had a deviated septum, which caused the breathing/nasal trouble & FESS ~ Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery which has helped tremendously, as it improves sinus drainage. Yes it did hurt a bit after, but I can breathe properly and am looking forward to some well deserved relief from it all!!! Still very early days but all progressing very well.
