Scratch's

Evenin all, has anyone got any good tips to get a scratch out of my beloved Mini. ! It looks like a key scratch (the bastereds, excuse my language). I took it to a couple of garages who have both said it is deep and needs sanding back and respraying. one quoted �320 plus vat (insurance approved garage) and the other was �220 plus vat (not insurance approved). Now the figures above make it sound like creater i know but its not. And will need to save up for that Any good tips to make it less noticable????

Hi .foggy. sorry have no tips but just wanted to sympathsize, my clio was scratched last week and I'm absolutely gutted, you can't have nothing, theres no respect and we work so hard for what we've got. I hope you get sorted your beloved Mini sorted soon.Take Care

Feel sorry for you foggy but the garages are right, anything you do will only make it look worse.

If it's metallic paint it's more noticeable because of the light reflection. To make it "less noticeable" try rubbing a little grease from your forehead into the scratch. In this way the grease dulls the light and makes it less noticeable but you will have to do this after each time you wash it.

depending on what colour it is,you can buy some polish to hide it a little bit,look in halfords they do quite a few different coloured ones.

Cheers everyone, yes its metalic grey, and is very noticable about 7" long just above the back wheel.

I did buy some coloured polish and have used it 4 times so far to no avail, still very noticable.

i was hoping you lot would know some magic trickery to hide it a little but never mind.

hi price seems bit steep i do body work and it would cost about 175 all in

Cheers ditchy, Ihad chips away out like somebody suggested and he quoted �120 and will do the few chips in my bonnet too whilst he has my colour paint out.

Much better price than the others, I'll still need to wait a month or so though.
