Please can anyone help me? I have a freeview box, but hubby wants to watch Setanta sports. I've been told that I have to order a new box from 'top-up tv' Will it be eas yfor me to install?, and is it worth doing?

You don't have to subscribe to TopUp TV to receive Setanta; all you need is a 'box with a slot'. Such boxes are available quite cheaply, e.g. this one costs �39.99 at Argos:

Once you've got your new Freeview box, you simply unplug your existing one and put the new one in its place. (i.e. 'installation' is effectively non-existent). Then all that hubby needs to do (why should you do all the work?) is to phone Setanta to subscribe to their service. (�9.99 per month, with no annual contract). If he tells them that he's got a box with a slot, they'll send him the viewing card to put in it, and then he's 'up and running'. (I've just phoned Setanta, to confirm that bit for you):
