I know I shouldn't laugh but when talking to her yesterday she was saying it was very windy around her house on the weekend, and she hoped that a "Salami" never happened here, another classic was " Oh I love placido Flamingo" and can you pick me up a tub of " Utterly battersby" anybody else got a lovely mum in law law like this or anybody they know that gets the words mixed up ? thanks all.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi all Thank you for replies, so funny, you couldn't make them up could you, my mum in llaw is 88 now, and comes out with these things all the time, bless her, she is so funny, sometimes she realises, then says, what did I just say, and starts to laugh herself, take care all and thanks again, what puddicat said is so true, last year when we went to work in a house the woman said she hated her neighbour because she was always casting nastursions.(spelling) at her I never twigged for a few minutes,as I knew exactly what she meant, so we all do it, not just mum in laws, eh, cheers all xx
Not quite the same but a friend of mine is Dyslexic and often mixes her spellings up with funny consequences. She text me once that she was so tired she was off to bed for 40 w@nks! She also left a note for her mum once asking if she could borrow a pair of black T1ts (like tights just take out the 'gh') for work. Thankfully she has a cracking sense of humour and finds her Dyslexia hilarious.
