I need an idea of the route that a particular train will take between Leicester and South Wales.
The National Rail enquiries website and other ones that come up when I Google "Train Route" or similar only show that the train departs from Leicester, a change occurs at Birmingham New Street and Newport, South Wales before arriving at the destination in West Wales.
I need to know which stations the train passes through say between Birmingham New Street and Newport. I can't find this info anywhere online.
On the old style pocket timetables, the stations the train passed through was shown because you could join or depart at selected stations en-route. It's something like that I'm looking for online.
I'd be very grateful for any help you can provide.
Have a closer look at the national rail enquiries web site. There's a helpful link that says Train Companies & Maps
Unfortunately you need 3 - the first general one for tha stations out in the country and the Birmingham and Cardiff/Bristol ones for the local stations at each end.
I wanted to check the route as I know someone who's traveling between Leicester and South Wales on Wednesday and I want to know if the flooding in the Tewksbury/Gloucester area might affect them. It now seems it might well do.
at present the line is blocked between Gloucester & Lydney, however it is possible to reach south Wales from Birmingham by travelling via Bristol Parkway.
