Im organising a quiz night at a local pub and want to do a raffel based on play your cards right. was wondering if i need a gaming licence or am i covered on the pubs own for the evening and also if i decide to do regular quizzes will i need one then to do the same raffel

So all existing permissions will be coming to an end although some will extend until they expire even if after 01/09/07. You do not have a gaming licence for lotteries, you have a Society Registration with your local authority and there are transitional arrangements in place about these. "Gaming" is the term relating to machines and bingo. Lotteries or raffles are purely about chance winning so are dealt with separately. Speak to your local council licensing section about the issues involved.
