Leodiensian is an old term for a person from Leeds, from the name 'Leodis'. Also the name of a rugby union team, here

As for Smeaton, I'm guessing it's a local character from the band's neck of the woods?

Smeaton is John Smeaton Community High School which is also in Leeds...just a guess :o)

John Smeaton was a civil engineer who went to Leeds Grammar School, hence is 'an old Leodensian'.
