Help with Finding a Place to Live?
Hello,
I hope you can help me. I'm a first timer here so not really sure what to do!!
Basically I am living in a rented bungalow with my boyfriend. We have to leave in 2 weeks as the landlord wants us out as the place was full of mould, damp and the windows leaked. He didnt want to pay out so has asked us to leave (gave us a month notice).
Anyway, we have found no where to go at all. I cant even go home as there is no room and we have a cat so its hard for him to go anywhere as no one wants him temporarily (have no kids).
My boyfriend may be going home so am I able to get my own place as I do not earn much at all even though I work full time (about 13k).
Does anyone have any advice about housing associations or council places I can get quickly. I would love a mortgage and pay my own way but just cant afford it. I would rent and pay my own pay but even that I cant really afford and I'm running out of time.

Look in your rental contract...hope you have one.Your landlord has to give you two months notice by law.and he can't ask you to leave simply beacause he is unwilling to carry out necessary repairs to the property. Ring your local Citizens Advice and they will be able to tell you your rights in law. Obviously if the property is in a bad state of repair you won't wish to continue living there long term but you may be able to extend your time there until you find somewhere else to live. Please don't let your landlord bully you out of your home and DO find out what your rights in law are...and then apply them! Good luck.
