I have suddenly gone off meat I can't stand the taste , texture anything which is annoying as I love chicken.I need some veggies to help me as I need to know what I can eat to stay healthy and not pass out ant suggestions

Cookbook wise you could try Lesley Waters - Cooler than Chillies book. It is a veggie cookbook that give you loads of lovely recipies using all sorts of herbs and spices, so not bland boring food. I like using Quorn pieces as a meat substitue in stir-frys - I normally marinate it in sesame seed oil, ginger, soy sauce and worcester sauce and leave for about 15 mins. tht is really tasty and may help you with your chicken craving as it has a fairly similar texture (fiberous). The other meat substitute I have used is ffrozen vege mince from Real eat - great for bolognaise or chilli. Also if you are worried about getting the correct vitamins etc I know seven seas do some good veggie multi vitamins and omega 3 oils (I get them in Tesco).Hope I've been of some help and good luck.
I gave up meat when I was a child for the same reason. There used to be nothing out there for veggies...now there's lots.
Quorn pieces are very like chicken & you can stick them in curries, pies, stir fries etc...as you would chicken. It's very low in fat & doesn't have a greasy textureas chicken sometimes has. There are loads of Quorn type things in the veggie bit of the supermarket freezers. I also eat cheese, which has plenty of protein...and tofu which can be cooked into loads of things.
I never have a problem these days when I go out, as there are veggie foods in almost every restaurant.
ive been a veggie for 24 years and its so much easier now,quorn products are very good.theres a firm called redwood foods,you can order on line.they do fantastic ready to eat sausages&believe it ir not they do salmon and scampi and fish fingers and theres no fish in them.if you go out to eat theres lots of different meals these daysand lots of good books around.i wish you all the best, vinny.
I'm not sure what Quorn is, but in answer to your question regarding staying healthy, soy protein is equivalent to meat protein. I eat alot of tofu (I just happen to like it), but I also buy cereals that are high in soy protein, use soy powder, drink soy milk, etc. Then there are meat substitutes made of soy protein that are used like meat in recipes. The other night, we made a spinach dip using soft tofu instead of sour cream and it was great! So there are lots of ways to get your protein. Hope this helps!
Quorn is made mainly from mushrooms but unfortunately it does contain battery eggs. A lot of veggies don't eat these for moral reasons, however if you're just veggie cos you don't like the taste of meat then obviously it'll be fine. I'm vegan so I never had it, but my bf eats the sausages and cold 'cooked meat' a lot. I second vinny100's comments about Redwood - I eat so many of their foods (about to have some of those ready to eat sausages for brunch right now!). Any health food shop will give you a ton of ideas and there are also loads of good veggie cookbooks - I recommend something by Leah Leneman.
