My friend and I for the last couple of months have been talking to each other via the web-cam from East Sussex to Spain,my friend has his web-cam built into his laptop. But for the last two weeks when I talk to him he can not hear me but I can hear him,and a few other people he knows also can not speak to him but he can speak to them.
I have spoken to one of his friends in the UK and we both can hear each other, can someone tell me what he is doing wrong or what he can do to rectify the problem.

Thanks for any help.

Thankyou Ethel,no we have gone down that route and everything seems to be OK,but we think it maybe the connections from here to Spain.

Thanks for your help though.
If they are using Skype or MSN ask them to do an audio check through 'Tools' ( plus audio check using Skype), otherwise it will be a check box in Start<Settings<Control Panel<Sounds and Audio Devises that needs unchecking
