After the Driving test if you pass i read somewhere that the examiner could (if you want him to) hold on to your provisional licence and send it to get exchanged for a full one, or you can send off for it yourself. I know the sending off for it myself is correct, but what is the procedure for him sending it off.
I was a driving instructor and my answer is :- it is not the. driving instructors responsibility to ensure that the licence is updated........it is yours
It's now common practice for the examiner to retain the provisional licence of a successful driving test candidate. A copy of the pass certificate given to the candidate is forwarded the same day to DVLA who issue the full licence.
The provisional licence is shredded at the test centre. If the candidate has a new address the examiner asks the candidate to enter it on the licence counterpart which is then sent toDVLA, otherwise that too is shredded.
when i passed my driving test 6month ago.. my examiner said "would you like me to post your documents off so you can recieve your full license?" an i said yes.. recieved it 2 weeks later!
