Lib Dem councillor who strips in her spare time
A married 34-year-old Liberal Democrat councillor is at the centre a bitter debate. Three of her fellow councillors have left the party because of her out-of-hours activities. She is a kissogram, strippagram and also operates a sex-chat line. What do you think? Should she be allowed to carry on with these activities? Or is what she does for work irrelevant to her role as a Lib Dem councillor?

It's not a question of whether she's allowed to or not. She's not breaking the law and it's her job. I do think it's a slightly inappropriate job but then it's also her choice.
It doesn't say whether or not she's proved to be a good councillor in the past but I can't see how her job would hinder her being a councillor particularly. I doubt she's ever going to be done for bribary or corruption because she abused a postion of power to help her our in her normal every day job.
Also I got the impression she was an elected councillor so did the public already know what she did for a living? If so, and they're happy enough then there really is not much of a problem.

Hmm compare and contrast with Malcom Rifkind who is a director or Armorgroup or Nicholas Soames MP who apparently is a director of Aegis Security.
Both are "private security firms" operating in Iraq.
in 2004 such firms made 1.8 billion in Iraq
I wonder who feels the most dirty?

I hate this sort of moral outcry. Really, by comparison, how many MPS and councillors probably *go*to stripclubs or cheat on their wives etc? But then, men are allowed weaknesses like that. If this woman can successfully turn a profit in her own life thanks to the inadequacies of men then I think all power to her. These problems generally stem from something termed the 'Madonna-Wh0re" complex, which many men suffer from, where they like their women to be one in public, the other in private.
Until such activities are illegal, leave the electorate and her record as a councillor to speak for themselves.
A councillor near Portsmouth has just been ousted after appearing in court for installing cameras in the bathroom of his unsuspecting female tenants. Now that IS disgusting and I think most people are sensible enough to tell the difference between the two situations.
