cat meowing around food

does your cat meow much? we recently got a new kitten, and will she shut up? god no. everytime we go into the kitchen she follows us and doesnt shut up. i think this is because she knows her food comes from there. she always has buscuits, but loves a tin of sardines or other fish. i dont want to feed her too much, but she just cant get enough of it!

hi hotpink, kittens need feeding at least 4 times a day when they are mall. Give them a little and often. it might be that you aren't feeding her regularly enough?

i have 3 kittens (now 4 months old) and they get fed 3 times a day now. We use an electronic feeder for their lunchtime meal as we are both at work, but they love it! They hear the sound of it opening and come running!

all 3 only 'chat' to us when they are really hungry, then there is a chorus of miaows.

she wont touch wet cat food. she always has a bowl full of biscuits which she loves. i don't mind giving her more food... is it ok to give her 2 tins of makrel, sardines etc? is too much fish bad for them?

I don't think fish is bad for them, but too much oily fish might be. check with your local vet (mine does free kitten checks and advice until they are 6 months old) as they will be able to advise you on what to feed them. The biscuits (provided they are kitten-specific ones) should be providing them with all the nutrients that they need, so supplementing that with anything else should only be occasional rather than the norm.
